Touching the Water
February 8 - April 11

Touching the Water is a community that meets each Wednesday evening from 6:30 -8 pm for 10 weeks at a time. It is for anyone who is interested in joining First Church, recommitting themselves to church participation, or just wants a "refresher course" in basic Christian beliefs. We want it to be a place of support, encouragement, and understanding as we learn together what it means to be a true member of Christ's Body, the Church. Annual Youth
Pasta Dinner

Friday, February 10
5-7 pm

Come for one of our favorite events - the Pasta Dinner which benefits our Epworth Youth missions and ministry. Dinner includes pasta, salad, garlic bread, dessert and a beverage. The tickets are $8 for adults ($10 at the door), $3 for children ages 4-10, and free for those 3 and under. The tickets are available from any Epworth youth, in Asbury Hall on Sundays, and in the church office during the week.

Be sure to stay after dinner for the Arts Series concert featuring the 722 Singers.

Join us after the Pasta Dinner for an evening of choral music with 722. 722 is an acappella ensemble specializing in tight harmonies. The perform a wide range of choral musical genres including renaissance, classical, contemporary jazz, old standards, and show tunes. A freewill offering will be taken and child care will be provided.

Going Strong
Thursday, February 9
1 pm

Nicky Keagy will be the guest speaker presenting a program entitled Stress, Sweet Stress. Her program draws upon her experiences as a Recreational Therapy Director, a Health Care Sales/Marketing Director, a Christian singer/songwriter, as well as other life experiences and education. All are welcome to attend! Refreshments will be served following the program.

First Church Book Club

Rev. Kubilus is starting a book club here at First Church. It will begin on March 24 and meet on the 4th Saturday of every month from 9-11 am. The first book will be Blood done Sign My Name by Timothy Tyson. It's an award-winning autobiography about the family of a white Methodist pastor who must confront racism and segregation. The book is $10. If you'd like to take part, please call the church office (Ext. 214) or sign up at the Welcome Center by March 4 so that we can order the books and give you plenty of time to read it before the first meeting!
